AS Sertifitseerimiskeskus changed their business name and starting from this year, will be operating under the name SK ID Solutions AS. The company’s previous areas of activity and the services offered by the company will not be changing.

SK took a new business name to further support their activities on international markets.

“Our goal is to offer services related to the electronic identity in other countries as well, not just in Estonia. The Estonian business name AS Sertifitseerimiskeskus properly described our first services on the home market. If originally, our ID-card related activities were limited to issuing certificates, then quite soon, we also began developing supporting software solutions, and our newer products, such as the Mobile-ID and Smart-ID, are already full electronic identity solutions. In our communications, we have used the simpler acronym SK instead of Sertifitseerimiskeskus for years. Now, it is also reflected in our business name,” said Kalev Pihl, head of SK ID Solutions.

Over the past few years, SK has expanded its portfolio of services and set a goal to eventually operate in other countries as well. For this reason, the new identification solution Smart-ID, which was introduced in November 2016, will be offered on international markets under the name SK ID Solutions.

This change only affects the company’s name. Both the website address www.sk.eeand the services the company has been offering will remain the same. “This name change does not bring any big or important changes to our activities. SK ID Solutions encompasses the services we offer in a better way, and makes it easier for us to communicate with foreign partners and clients. Our company’s short acronym name and logo – SK – are already familiar to current clients and we will keep on using them in the future as well,” said Pihl.

SK ID Solutions specializes in international e-identity solutions. We are Estonia’s partner in issuing certificates for national identity documents. We enable the citizens of different countries to log in to e-services and give digital signatures. SK ID Solutions caters to more than 600 organizations, which include financial, healthcare, and various other private and public sector e-services. Our services in Estonia have more than 600 000 end users.
