CA/B Forum welcomed Sertifitseerimiskeskus as a new member
Certification Authority Browser Forum (CA/B Forum), a voluntary organization joining the world’s leading Certification Authorities (CA) and vendors of Internet browser software and other applications, welcomed Sertifitseerimiskeskus as a new member.
SK has fulfilled the requirements of trustworthiness set on the membership of the CA/B Forum. The community works closely together in defining the guidelines and means of implementation for the SSL Certificate standards as a way of increasing safety and user friendliness of the service. The members of the CA/B Forum must meet the following criteria:
- issuing publicly trusted SSL certificates;
- undergoing a 3rd party audit;
- signing the Intellectual Property Rights policy.
According to Kalev Pihl, the CEO of SK, the CA/B Forum has attained a leading role as an organization shaping technical solutions and standards worldwide: „Both me and our team in Sertifitseerimiskeskus are glad to contribute to global developments, as well as to introduce Estonia’s experience as a successful e-state and explain our needs.“
In addition to Estonia, CAs from Slovakia, Spain, Czech Republic, and China joined the CA/B Forum. That enhanced the geographical diversity, as well as the overall knowledge base of the organization. This brings the total membership of the CA/B Forum to 45.
