Digital Identity and the Future Took Spotlight at 2024 SK ID Solutions Conference
With an unprecedented convergence of experts and visionaries in digital identity, the SK ID Solutions Annual Conference 2024 provided a thoughtful space for experts and stakeholders to engage with the pressing issues surrounding online security and the future of digital identities.
This year’s annual conference kicked off with an inspiring speech by Mikko Hyppönen, a global security expert, speaker, and author celebrated among the 50 most significant figures on the web by PC World magazine and distinguished in the FP’s Global 100 Thinkers list. He delved into identity and security in a world increasingly dominated by savvy criminals who adopt traditional business practices, like branding their organizations and establishing trustworthiness among clients.
The second keynote speaker, Haraldur Bjarnason, CEO of Auðkenni, conveyed his insights on the implementation and utilization of Smart-ID in Iceland. He shed light on local progress in digital transformation, highlighting initiatives such as the EU Wallet, strategies for fraud prevention, and the roll-out of novel trust services.
Madis Ehastu, a policy officer at the DG Connect of the European Commission, illuminated the current scene and the future horizons for the identity network within the EU. His speech set the stage for an enriching panel discussion with industry connoisseurs from Iceland, the Netherlands, and Estonia.
The conference did not just receive accolades for its insightful content but also for its expansive reach, boasting a record-breaking turnout – with nearly 400 registrants from around the globe and 697 live-stream viewers.
