New certificate policy, profile and conditions for use of the organisation certificates of the Certification Centre (Sertifitseerimiskeskus, SK) will enter into force on 20 June 2014. The documents are available at:
- policy on organisation certificates;
- profile on organisation certificates;
- conditions for use of organisation certificates.
All SK’s public documents, including information on the current and the new documentation of services, can be found at SK’s homepage.
The purpose of the updates is to ensure the functioning and the quality of the organisation certificates’ service, and to improve the security of the organisation certificates issued.
The most important changes to be noted are the adoption of the SHA-256 hashing algorithm and the new certification chain. For further information on the adoption of the SHA-256 hashing algorithm, read more. Additional information on the new certification chain, which will again facilitate the issuing of organisation certificates with a validity of up to 3 years, can be found here.
More detailed information on all the changes is available in specific documents.
